William's Baptism

William was baptized today and did really well. He wasn't fussy and didn't cry, spit up, or poop on anyone...we were so proud. He was getting tired so he sucked on his paci the whole time, and when Pastor Davis walked him around the church he apparently entertained everyone by performing his new favorite trick of pulling his paci out, waving it around, and then putting it back in his mouth. What a ham....

Waiting patiently for the service to begin:

His gown was made by a church member, Pat Shira. It's really sweet, with smocking at the top and a little duckie on it. Nana and Pops drove up from Hope to share the day with us and we were really glad they were able to be there!

That's Pastor Davis Thompson holding him, and he had all of the family plus some church members come and lay hands on William after he was baptized to pray for him:

Then he was presented to the congregation, and they were asked to promise to love and help William grow in Christ so that one day he might claim Him as his Savior. Very nice service!

Then Pastor Davis walked him around the church and showed him to everyone:

While they took their walk, the choir sang a really sweet anthem called "You Are Loved" which says: "You are loved, you are special, you are loved by your family and friends. And you are loved by your heavenly Father, with a love that never ends." It was hard to keep a dry eye!

After church:

Beth Crowson held his Baptismal Font and David Chandler presented him to the congregation. Beth is in Handbells and Choir and is a good friend of ours. Her daughter Emily babysits for William a lot. David is on staff with me and is also a church member and good friend of ours.

Pastor Davis and William:

Jack, Neal, Amy, William, Pastor Davis, Nana and Pops:

One interesting side note is that Davis was previously the pastor at Neal's parents'church in Hope, so they knew him before we did.

One last picture of Sweet William:

And another 'cause he's so darn cute!
