When it snows, and school is out, good old boys are going to find a way to have some fun. Friday when the ice first fell the youth group leaders at Searcy FUMC rounded up all of the kids and they took off for some snow day activities. I caught up with them a few hours after they had been out and about and they had come up with the idea to try this. It was a blast!
We were in a field just north of downtown Searcy where the youth had done some activities before. This is the same place where they had mud wars last summer. The mud pit is next to this field.
All evening and into the night Friday it snowed and sleeted so there was more on the ground today. This time we came more prepared and in more numbers. We spent several hours, built a fire, roasted hot dogs, and had plenty of hot chocolate. We perfected the ride a little too.
So far we've called this the redneck toboggan and the redneck merry-go-round. Somebody needs to come up with a good name for this.
